Canopies, Awnings and Blinds for Movie Buffs

Many movie buffs are realizing that adding canopies, awnings, and window blinds (Markisen & Rollos) is a great way to improve the quality of viewing movies. Awnings are a structure attached to the outside of a building to provide shade and reduce the amount of sunlight entering a room. Canopies are similar to awnings in that they are attached outside a window to provide a certain amount of shade to a space, but different in the fact that they can be removed after use. Window blinds are parallel horizontal slats with the feature of being able to control exactly how much sunlight is permitted to enter the room.

Installing an awning can be very beneficial to movie fans. Awnings, by providing shade and reducing the amount of natural light in a room, can make a movie image appear more crisp and clear.
Canopies used to prohibit sunlight (sonnenschutz) make a movie easier to see. They also have the benefit of adding a decorative look to any window. Canopied windows are effective and easy to maintain. They come with the convenience of being able to remove them, or fold them up and store until needed.

Blinds, although not as visually pleasing as awnings and canopies, are beneficial in their own respect. Window blinds (Plissee Jalousien) are adjustable, and therefore can be set at the right level for any situation. The more appropriate type of blinds for movie buffs is plisse blinds. These blinds are covered in a fabric treated with caustic soda to give them a puckered look. Plisse blinds have openings between the slats, but are completely covered with the fabric, which reduces even more of the light entering a room.

By implementing awnings, canopies, or window blinds, a movie buff can ensure that their featured presentation is more enjoyable. Eliminating the distractions that can occur during a movie makes it a more pleasurable and relaxed experience.
